Cold Pressure Welding
Cold pressure welding is a method for permanently joining
nonferrous metals and their alloys without using heat, fillers
or fluxes. Round wire or rod sections, dissimilar materials,
and materials of different sizes can all be welded with PMW's
proven cold welding technology. The cold welder produces a
weld that is stronger than the parent material without sacrificing
electrical integrity. Huestis Industrial distributes PWM's
complete line of welders and dies.

Handheld
Cold Pressure Welders
Handheld Manual Welders are lightweight and ideal for use
in confined spaces to permanently weld most nonferrous metals.
Two models handle materials in the .0031 - .045
(0.08 - 1.20 mm) range. Designed to fit comfortably in the
hand, these machines are easily operated by a light trigger
action. Each unit uses the proven multiple upset technique
to complete the cold pressure weld in seconds. All units use
industry standard dies and are supplied with their own storage
case that includes additional space for multiple dies.

PWM Portable, Scissor Action
Cold Pressure Welders
Portable Scissor Action Welders are convenient and powerful.
The portable, manually operated M30 welds most nonferrous
metals in wire or strip form, within the .0118 - .071
(0.30 - 1.80 mm) range. It is the smallest machine manufactured
to date with this impressive size range capability. The M30
uses industry standard dies and is operated by a simple scissor
action. It uses the multiple upset technique to complete the
weld in seconds. While designed to be handheld (the machine
is perfectly balanced for ease of use) the M30 also has the
adaptability to be statically mounted in the work area if
required. It is supplied in its own storage case, with space
provided for a number of dies.

PWM Pneumatic, Handheld
Cold Pressure Welders
Pneumatic Handheld Welders provide an effortless, fast and
permanent weld for nonferrous materials, in wire or strip
form. PWM's new HP30 has a capacity of .0118 - .071
( 0.30-1.80 mm) for copper, and .0118 - .0787
( 0.30 - 2.00 mm) for aluminum. Freestanding and portable
within the limits of the air supply, the HP30 can also be
supplied with a mounting kit, for secure or permanent fixing
to a work surface or trolley. The compact HP30 measures 6.30
(160 mm) long x 3.23 (82 mm) wide x 12.68 (322
mm) high, and weighs just under 9 lbs. (4.0 kg). The machine
is supplied in a convenient, custom case incorporating pockets
for several die sizes.

PWM Manual
Cold Pressure Welders
Manual Welders can be used on either a work bench or a mobile
trolley. (Trolley can be supplied.) These small sturdy machines
are manually operated using light hand pressure on the operating
lever to initiate the multiple upset technique. These machines
use industry standard dies and have the capacity to weld most
nonferrous metals within the .004 - .071 (0.10
- 1.80 mm) range. This uncomplicated design is both simple
to use and very tough. Due to the few component parts used,
it is extremely reliable and low on maintenance.

PWM Pneumatic
Cold Pressure Welders
Pneumatic Welders are mounted on specifically designed trolleys
that allow easy portability and full view of the weld area.
The machines use industry standard dies and weld most nonferrous
metals in wire or strip form in the range of .040 -
.197 (1 - 5 mm), depending on hardness. One totally
pneumatic model and one air/hydraulic model use compressed
air to activate the machine. These strong, simple designs
offer outstanding reliability, and ease of maintenance.

PWM
Pneumatic/ Hydraulic
Cold Pressure Welders
Pneumatic/ hydraulic welders offer powerful performance.
PWM's HP100 model is equipped with a solid steel welding head
capable of welding non-ferrous wire and strip from .039
up to .197 (1 - 5 mm). Trolley-mounted for convenience
and ease of use, the HP100 is powered by an air/hydraulic
intensifier and easily activated by a foot pedal. Using the
proven multiple upset technique, the machine will cold weld
the materials in seconds to provide a bond which is as strong
as the parent material.

Pneumatic/ Hydraulic
Cold Pressure Welders
Pneumatic/ hydraulic welders offer powerful performance.
PWM's new HP200 model is a larger, more powerful version of
the HP100, equipped with a solid steel welding head capable
of welding non-ferrous wire and strip from .079 up to
.256 (2 - 6.5 mm). Trolley-mounted for convenience and
ease of use, the HP200 is powered by an air/hydraulic intensifier
and easily activated by a foot pedal. Using the proven multiple
upset technique, the machine will cold weld the materials
in seconds to provide a bond which is as strong as the parent
material.

PWM Electro/ Pneumatic
Cold Pressure Welders
Electro/Pneumatic Welders handle most nonferrous metals,
in wire or strip form, in the range of .197 - .492
(5 - 12.5 mm)for copper, and .197 - .590 (5 -
15 mm) for aluminum depending upon hardness. Operation is
controlled by an advanced and easy to use Programmable Controller
(PLC) which takes the pneumatic system through the required
welding sequence. A coaxial thrust technique is applied in
the welding process, with independent control over the grip
and upset movements through an arrangement of pneumatic cylinders.
Fully automatic deflashing is incorporated into the system
for removal of the weld burr. It is easy to use, totally reliable
and ensures a clean and safe working environment for operators.

PWM Electro/Hydraulic
Cold Pressure Welders
Electro/Hydraulic Welders handle most nonferrous metals in
a wide range of sizes. Choose the P1000 model for .236
- .630 (6 - 16 mm) diameter range for copper, and .236
- .787 (6 - 20 mm) for aluminum. The P1500 steps up
to a larger range of .590 - 1.00 (15 - 25 mm)
diameter for copper and .590 - 1.180 (15 -30 mm)
for aluminum depending on hardness. Both systems are hydraulically
powered and electronically controlled. The independent grip
and upset forces are produced by an arrangement of hydraulic
cylinders. Concentricity of the two work pieces is ensured.
The control system provides automatic deflashing on completion
of the weld. An important feature is the low electrical consumption
for welding large cross sectional areas. These robust welders
are simple, safe, reliable, and quiet in operation.

Industry Standard Dies
Industry Standard Dies work with all cold pressure welders
manufactured by PWM as well as other popular cold pressure
welding systems.
We can supply industry standard dies for wire sizes between
.0031 - .197 (0.08 - 5 mm) in size. All dies are
individually handmade in matched sets to the tightest possible
tolerances by skilled craftsmen. Dies can be provided to suit
round or profile wires and rods according to customer specifications.
