SoundBarrier Tech Tips
Here are some tips to help get your SoundBarrier up
and running as quickly as possible.
Setup
Install the enclosure on the frame by inserting the adjustment
shaft into the frame tube. Be sure that the flat section of
the adjustment shaft is on the same side as the two adjustment
screws in the frame tube. Back the adjustment screws out if
the shaft cannot clear them. Tighten the adjustment screws
with a 3/16 Allen wrench. Remove the clear top and set
it aside to prevent damage.
If your SoundBarrier was supplied with blank inlet/exit guides,
they must be punched to accommodate the process size. The
hole must be punched in the center of the guide. After punching
the guides, install the guide between the enclosure box and
the guide ring with the four provided screws.
Install the Air Wipe with bracket, guide, and splashguard
inside the enclosure with the provided hardware.
Install the panel mounted quick-release fittings in the back
of the SoundBarrier. Each enclosure is supplied with two quick-release
fitting assemblies. Match the fitting tube size to the Air
Wipe that you are using.
Separate the fitting halves by depressing the thumb latch
and remove the panel nut from the coupling body. Insert the
coupling body from the outside of the SoundBarrier and install
the panel nut from the inside of the enclosure.
Tighten the panel nut using a 13/16 open end or adjustable
wrench.
Mounting
Position the SoundBarrier enclosure in line with the process
and loosen the two adjustment screws in the frame tube.
Adjust the height of the enclosure by turning the shaft adjustment
nut on the adjustment shaft. Tighten the adjustment screws
in the frame tube to secure the enclosure in place.
Secure the frame to the floor. The SoundBarrier base frame
is supplied with four .50 (12.7 mm) dia. mounting holes
and must be secured to the floor. The floor-mounting surface
should be flat and level.
Connect the drain plug on the bottom of the unit to a fluid
recycling or disposal system. Drain tubes are not supplied
with the SoundBarrier and must be provided.
Note: Some air will pass through the drain. Ensure that your
recovery or disposal system can accommodate this occurrence.
Final Adjustments
Thread the process material through the inlet guide, Air
Wipe, and out the exit guide to the next process.
Adjust the Air Wipe guide by loosening the guide adjustment
handle and repositioning the guide. Tighten the handle to
secure the guide. Note: The guide handle ratchets for ease
of operation.
Air Supply
Huestis Industrial Air Wipes require a clean, dry air supply
usually operated at approximately 60 PSI.
Remove the hose lock from the coupling body and insert it
over the air supply tube. Connect the air supply tube to the
coupling body and reattach the lock to the body.
Connect the hose from the Air Wipe to the coupling insert
in the same manner as the coupling body.
Insert the coupling insert inside the coupling body.
Maintenance
SoundBarrier requires very little maintenance. The inlet/exit
guides will wear over time and must be inspected periodically.
