Cable Jacket Stripper — Cable Core Salvage System

CJS 1000 Cable Jacket StripperStripping faulty cable jackets from costly cable cores demands precision and protection. Huestis Industrial's Cable Jacket Strippers remove jackets quickly and easily without damaging the valuable core.

A protective stripping tool and rotating blade work together to lift, cut and completely separate the jacket from bare or braided cable cores.

Free-standing, bench mounted or custom models quickly remove jackets from various cable with cores from .030” — 4.00” (.76 — 102 mm) dia.

Features

No Core Damage

  • A protective steel stripper shoe sized closely to the core diameter, separates the jacket from the core.
  • A steel saw blade, riding in a closed groove in the shoe, slices the jacket only without damaging the core.

Applications

  • Stripping damaged or faulty jackets.
  • Curing jacket removal.
  • Upgrading of scrap.

Stripping Capabilities

  • Single or multiple conductors.
  • .030” — 4.00” (.76 -102 mm) core dia.
  • Custom, flat, fiber-optic or metal sheathed cable applications.
  • Custom removal of outer and inner jackets in one efficient operation.

Jacket Puller Options

  • Stiff or heavy jackets may require our jacket puller or puller-chopper.
  • Puller's steel nip-rolls grip tightly to pull jacket from core after cutting.
  • Can be mounted directly on stripper or supplied as a free-standing unit.

Puller-Chopper Options

  • Two models pull/chop jacket into 12” (305 mm) or less disposable lengths.
  • JPC 1000: Up to 1.25” (32 mm) O.D.
    — Variable speed up to 250 fpm (76 m).
  • JPC 3000: Up to 3.50” (89 mm) O.D.
    — Variable speed up to 125 fpm (38 m).

Pre-Heater Option

  • Pre-heater option softens very stiff or heavy jackets prior to cutting.

Speed of Removal

  • A thin, smooth, soft jacket may run at several hundred feet per minute.
  • A thick, bumpy, stiff jacket requires extra care and consideration.
  • Cable diameter and size of pay-off and take-up stands are also factors.
