RI — Huestis Industrial Cable Jacket Strippers help reclaim
costly cable cores by removing jackets from cables with core/conductor
diameters ranging from .030” (.79 mm) - 4” (101
mm).
The proven Huestis Industrial design removes cable jackets
quickly and efficiently without damaging the valuable core.
A hardened steel stripper shoe, sized closely to the core
or conductor diameter, separates the jacket from the core.
A rotating steel saw blade then neatly slices the jacket for
disposal or recovery. The blade rides in a closed groove in
the shoe, separated from the core, making core damage virtually
impossible.
Once removed, the jacket can pay out on the floor, to a granulator,
or to a separate take-up for rejacketing or salvage. Optional
accessories include a puller for heavy applications, integral
preheater for stiff inflexible jackets, or a jacket puller/chopper
for semiautomatic, easy jacket disposal.
Speed of jacket removal varies according to jacket
material and consistency. A thin, smooth
jacket may run at several hundred feet per minute, while a
stiff, irregular jacket may require more attention.
Single conductors, large strands, or both outer and inner
jackets may be removed in one highly productive operation.
Tabletop and floor standing models accommodate both periodic
stripping or production operations including curing jacket
removal. Custom systems for fiber-optic and metal sheathed
cables are also available. Huestis Industrial offers free
