Radiotherapy Simulators

The Huestis•Cascade NT™ radiotherapy simulator is world renowned for accurate, reliable and very affordable simulation. Driven by WindowsNT®, our NEW model lets you “get connected” with today's networking flexibility. Our new operator control station and hand pendant place a powerful array of impressive features at your fingertips. An easily read LCD screen displays position feedback and operational status. Asymmetrical or symmetrical field wires offer selectable, precise positioning. Calibration software facilitates setup and maintenance. Easily installed, our freestanding design eliminates the need for an expensive floor pit and major room modification.

Radiotherapy Block Cutters

Shielding block cutters from Huestis Medical are renowned as the worldwide industry standard. More Compu•cutter® and Styro•former® block cutters are in use than all other shielding block mold cutters combined. Compu•cutter® uses precise, digitized radiograph outlines to cut shielding block molds with ± 1 mm accuracy. Block outlines can be manually digitized or transferred from treatment planning systems. Styro•former® offers accurate, easy and fast cutting with minimal training. A handheld tracing stylus allows quick radiograph outlining to provide a smooth and efficient block cutting procedure.

Radiotherapy Beam Modulation

Compu•former® radiotherapy beam modulation system utilizes a precise, computer-controlled milling machine to produce extremely accurate tissue compensating filters and beam intensity modulators used for radiotherapy. Included treatment planning system interfaces ensure accurate data acquisition and uniform dose distribution for missing tissue and body inhomogeneity corrections. A precise, three-axis milling platform ensures repeatable milling accuracy of ± 1 mm. Milling can be done quickly, remotely and at any time. An integral, enclosed vacuum system quickly and quietly removes foam chips produced by the milling process. Windows® based, menu-driven software is easy to use with minimal training. Milling can be done remotely and at any time.

Radiotherapy X-Ray Cassette Holders

Flexi•holder® X-ray cassette holders significantly reduce retakes caused by improper cassette positioning. They permit smoother scheduling and superior radiographs saving film, time and labor for cost effective radiographic procedures. Our freestanding model features an extra wide base for maximum stability. It allows accurate radiographs to be taken from virtually any angle from floor level to 71”+ (180 cm) high. It rolls into position on large, locking casters and tilts the cassette 180° facing straight up, down or anywhere in between. Freestanding and tabletop models accept virtually all cassettes.

Radiotherapy Positioning & Immobilization

Positioning & Immobilization devices from Huestis Medical offer precise, repeatable positioning. Our Flexi•board® breast incline board features integral carbon-fiber grids that minimize weight and maximize the range of possible treatment angles. The entire board weighs only 6.5 Lb. (2.9 kg) yet will support up to a 300 Lb. (136 kg) patient.

Turbo•cast RT® thermoplastic is designed specifically for radiotherapy. It forms quickly and is easily applied to a patient's contours. Turbo•cast RT has a unique, fleece-like texture that is extremely comfortable. It will not stick to skin, hair or itself. Non-shrinking and re-heatable, it eliminates costly re-fittings.

Radiotherapy Accessories

Our Calipers are designed to be the most accurate calipers in radiotherapy. Their detailed construction is precisely controlled so that scales can be calibrated and verified in 1 mm increments to help prevent measurement inaccuracies. Interrelated parts help prevent looseness at the connecting joints to lessen the chance of miscalculation or overradiation.
