GE Sentry III
Remanufactured Automatic Collimator

Huestis Medical's remanufactured GE Sentry III collimator automatically senses both the size of the cassette and the source-to-image distance (SID). Sentry III also automatically maintains the X-ray field equal to the film cassette size in the Bucky tray for Bucky technics with the table horizontal.

This versatile collimator provides a means of field limiting for vertical table and chest films and automatically reverts to manual operation if system requirements are not met. Thoroughly remanufactured, each unit is calibrated to OEM specifications.

Features

Automatic, Multiple Positions

• Offers continuous automatic collimation for horizontal Buckys at S.I.D of 72” — 36” (183 — 91 cm) or greater when film is within ± 10° of horizontal and X-ray beam is within ± 10° vertical.
• Discrete automatic collimation for vertical table Bucky, vertical cassette holder and vertical Bucky stand.
• Multiple positions include:
  — 36” — 44” (91.4 — 111.8 cm)
  — 44” — 60” (111.8 — 152.4 cm)
  — either 60” or 72” (152.4 — 182.9 cm)
• Only a service technician may alter these after installation setup.

Easy to Use Controls

• Fully interlocked to prevent exposures or unnecessary radiation where not permitted by health regulations.
• During automatic operation, reduction ON/OFF button allows field size to be adjusted to a size smaller than the film size being measured.
• Three-position key switch allows for manual override of normal collimator functioning only during nonstandard situations.
• Collimator key should be maintained by administrative personnel for use only during nonstandard situations.
• Collimator to tube interface has been strengthened to maintain the critical collimator alignment.

Locking Features

• New push-button lock controls are reliable and easy to use.
• Collimator rotation lock provides centering of collimator to orientation of the film.
• Lock knob may be turned to tighten the lock.
