HUESTIS MEDICAL INTRODUCES NEW COMPUFORMER®
RADIOTHERAPY BEAM MODULATION SYSTEM

RI Huestis Medical has introduced a newly updated Compuformer®
radiotherapy beam modulation system.
The TC-5005 LT Compuformer® model features a precise,
computer-controlled milling machine to produce extremely accurate
compensating filters and beam intensity modulators used for
radiotherapy. Included treatment planning system interfaces
ensure accurate data acquisition and uniform dose distribution
for missing tissue and body inhomogeneity corrections.
A precise, three-axis milling platform ensures repeatable
milling accuracy of ± 1 mm. Milling can be done quickly,
remotely and at any time. An integral, enclosed vacuum system
quickly and quietly removes foam chips produced by the milling
process. Windows based, menu-driven software is easy
to use with minimal training.
Compuformer® utilizes user definable compensating
material and pre-cut 10 x 10 x 2 (25.4 x
25.4 x 5.1 cm) foam blocks to produce compensators up to approximately
22 cm (8.7) square. Changes for reduction ratio and
treatment geometry are programmed into the procedure.
